Pizza steel

Pizza steel has up to 50 times higher thermal conductivity than ordinary pizza stone, which results in a shorter cooking time, a crispier bottom and more airy pizza.

Warning: The steel can rust if exposed to moisture. Rust can be easily removed by cleaning and re-burning in oil.

          BEFORE USE

          FOR OVEN

  • Wash the pizza steel in warm water with washing up liquid. Use a dish brush or nylon sponge (not steel wool). Use paper or a lint-free microfiber cloth to dry the pizza steel. Make sure the 100% is dry.
  • Put the steel in with oil that can withstand heat (rapeseed, soya and similar frying oils). Cover the entire steel and use your hands to distribute the oil into the steel. Then wipe off with paper. There should be a thin layer of oil left on the steel. NB. There should not be large amounts left on the steel.
  • Place the pizza steel on a rack in the oven on the top level. Turn on the grill function at maximum temperature. Leave the pizza pan for 30-45 minutes.
  • The steel will now take on a darker color and the oil has burned on and forms a protective film on the steel.
  • The steel is now ready for use.

    IN USE

  • Preheat the oven to maximum temperature with the grill function
  • Place the pizza steel on the existing grid and insert this on the second top

or top level in the oven when it has reached maximum heat.

  • Preheat the steel for 30-45 min. or more.
  • Move the grate with the steel down a notch after preheating.
  • Place the pizza on the preheated steel, using a pizza shovel. ATTENTION. The steel is very hot.
  • Bake the pizza with the grill function at max.
  • Pizza steel can also be used for baking other suitable baked goods.
